We love to be surprised by cool things happening in the truck sim fan community. After blazing through their Kicstarter for SKRS 18 Speed USB Shift Knob, Cory & gang at CSIO Technologies have built a company around a unique business plan - offering high-quality custom hardware tailored for the specific need of truck simulator games. We feel that they deserve a mention here on the blog.

The replacement shifter knob is actually using original Eaton Fuller part with additional circuitry for communication with the game. It is compatible with several high-end shifters: Fanatec, Thrustmaster TH8RS and TH8A, and Logitech G25, G27 and G29 steering wheel shifters.

Given the price point, it is something only for the most enthusiastic fans. But as there is quite a lot of people who have been ok with buying a $200-$300 steering wheel just to play our games, CSIO may have a decent chance to be viable in the long term.

For the upcoming updates for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, we have improved the setup screens in the game to autodetected the new controller, and to understand the new type of switches on the shifter. We are happy to embed one of CSIO Technologie's YouTube...
the struggle to finish the latest features and fixes so 0.13 can be in time, or just reasonable delayed, goes on. There is always last missing icon or tweak that was hiding around the corner. It is still not certain whether we can really deliver next week, but we will certainly try to.

No Factorio sale
We state it on our steam page, but people are still asking about it so I want to state it officially. We don't plan any Factorio sale. I'm aware, that the sale can make a lot of money in a short period of time, but I believe that it is not worth it in the long run, and since we are not in financial pressure we can afford to think in the long run. We don't like sales for the same reason we don't like the 9.99 prices. We want to be honest with our customers. When it costs 20, we don't want to make it feel like 10 and something. The same is with the sale, as you are basically saying, that someone who doesn't want to waste his time by searching for sales or special offers has to pay more.

Flame thrower
Michal almost finished the overall flame related work. Part of it is, that the flame thrower uses the same logic as the flame turret. The whole fire mechanics consist of many factors. The flamethrower arc, flame on the ground, running biters/trees on fire, the smoke, burnt patches on ground, burnt trees etc. But from what I could try, the overall feeling of destruction was worth the trouble.

This is just a small example:...
In this week's update, we're bringing you lots of bug fixes and improvements. The biggest fix is for ship toolbars - they're now synchronized between the server and the clients, so you'll no longer lose your configurations when you rejoin a server. Also, you will correctly see any modifications made to a toolbar by other players.
We've also improved the 3rd person camera, which now acts differently based on whether you are in a ship or station control seat. Because of these changes, the 3rd person camera should now be much easier to control. It's also easier to merge stations when using copy and paste. A number of issues that caused crashes have been resolved, and we fixed character animations being out of sync on multiplayer servers.

Here is out little marketing blurb for Arizona: Drive through the streets of 15 new cities including the largest city and capital, Phoenix, and visit the distinctive southern centers Flagstaff and Tucson. Discover a section of the famous Route 66 with its key landmarks. Cross the Colorado river over unique bridges and explore many wonderful vistas and famous landmarks within this region.

The Arizona State is not the only new feature of 1.3 update of course. The list of changes and fixes is much longer, here is a recap of the key ones:
